I have not been very faithful to blogging lately. I've been busy with doing family portraits. Everyone want's there pictures yesterday. I have also been working on my crocheting and have found I am really enjoying it. I've learned how to read a pattern after all these years. I have only been able to make blankets since I learned years ago. Lately I have made and elephant, bear, dog and several other items. I will start posting some new item's soon.

Time to relax

I have decided to start crocheting again. I really enjoy it. It is relaxing and calming. I have been getting patterns together and have started a few projects. I have a box full of yarn and a ton of needle and several books. Next week I am in the middle of nowhere will no internet and nothing but time and my 2 year old. I’m hoping to be able to remember what I’m doing once I get the ball rolling.

M.I.A.

I have been missing from my life for about a week now. I went to photograph a wedding on Sat Nov 31st and when I got home my baby was sick and did not feel good. I gave her a bath and put her to bed. By the next morning see had so much trouble breathing we decided to take her to the children’s hospital to the ER. WE check her in and within 25 min. They had as in a room in the ER. To make a long story short she has Asthma. My sister in law suspected that she did when she was around 6 months and we have even asked her doctor a few times but was always told they don’t diagnose Asthma at such a young age unless they have a major attack . She was always treated as having a cold. Anyway so we make it home on Tues. afternoon and around 12 p.m. she starts vomiting and continues to do so until about 8 the next morning. We get up and take her to her pediatrician her listens to what we whet through than listens to her chest than sends back to children’s because she is concerned about pneumonia and dehydration. After several hours of waiting this time mostly to see if she was going to vomit. They finally put us in a room. This time they decide she has picked up a bug, most likely from there and they are going to put an IV in so she won’t dehydrate since she can’t keep anything down. So finally on Sat the fowling week we are home and I hope we get to stay her. She is doing much better. The vomiting has passed and now we are on to the diarria stage. And apparently hubby also got it. Yay me!

Busy time of year

And so starts my busy month. The last two days I have spent taking family holiday portraits. This starts my month that seems to never end. I have several more family set ups to do before the end of November to get them back in time for Christmas. My poor baby does not like when mommy and daddy both have to work and today she has been extra winy because her allergies are making her sick. Tomorrow I have a wedding to do so she gets to spend the day with her daddy which she always loves. I’m off to bed to get my beauty sleep. LOL!

My MIL is awesome!

I love the pillowcase dresses that I see and some of my fellow CEM Etsy moms make. I told my mother in law about this dress and she asked to see the pattern. I told her I don’t have a pattern so she asked to see a picture of one. I showed her a picture of one and within 2 hours she came up with this one for my daughter. She did this with out a pattern. I am amazed at how talented she really is. My hubby always said she made his and his sisters clothes just by looking at a picture. She also made the blankets that are now in my shop. She is a great seamstress but is not very good on the internet.

I am so frustrated!

My computer died. I am stuck with hubby's 10 year old computer that has no editing software for my pictures. I don't even have a way to put pictures on the computer to upload to Etsy. I'm hoping it will be fixed in the next couple of days without losing any of my data or pictures. Needless to say my frustration level is high!.

New item added to my Etsy

I love photography so I decided to add some of my photo’s that I have taken at my local arboretum to my Etsy store. I chose to add my favorite one first. It is a beautiful brown pumpkin. When I first saw it I did not think it was real but I know there is no fake anything at the arboretum. They change out the landscape with the change of the season. I do a lot of bridals there. It would be so cool to have my photo hanging in someone’s house.

Sneek Attack! What Fun

Today I was reading http://brookberrys.blogspot.com/ blog and learned about something called a sneak attack. This is the coolest idea. You can find more info here http://www.handmademovement.com/.
Every few days a new or relatively undiscovered Etsy shop is chosen as a "victim", and at a given time multiple buyers all visit the site and buy one or more items each, resulting in a whole slew of surprise business in a very short time. In the past week a handful of shops have all been "attacked" and both the shop owners AND the buyers have had GREAT experiences.

Finally, I got to sew.

So today my wonderfull hubby play with the baby this morning so I could get som sewing done. The most I have sewed is a taggie blanket for my daughter and one for my niece so I'm not real good at reading the dirctions. My first attemt turned out cute although I can see where I messed up. My daughter confiscated that one whe she tried it on. LOL. The next attempt just frustrated me. It is a difernt pattern than the first one and I can't figgure out where I went wrong,(sigh) I just gave up for now and sat down on the computer. I need to get up and finish what I am making for the Racheal,Martha, and Ellen baskets for the Cafemom Etsy team. I am going to put a picture of my little model in the dress that did half way right.

Plans change

So the plan for today was to get rid of my daughter and break out the sewing machine. So what did I do today? Not that. My 16 year old nephew is a Firefighter exsplorer and he need to be cpr certified and he asked me to go with him. It was a 6 hour class and so worth it. I learned infant ,child and adult cpr. The class was for heathcare provider so I got to learn more than you would in your average cpr class. I am now confedant that I can save my childs life if she stoped breathing. I recamend anyone who has children to become cpr certified. As far as my sewing goes I made a deal with the hubby to work on it on Sunday.

Not a very productive day.

I did not get anything done today but I did have a lot of fun with my daughter. We played most of the day and we went outside she convinced me to slide down the slide after her. I thought is was going to break LOL but it didn't. Than she convinced me to lay on the ground and look up at the sky(there were no clouds today) just like in SpongeBob. When I say convinced I meen she gave me her puppy dog eye and said PLEASE. What is a mother to do.

New items

I am thinking of adding new atems to my Etsy. Between my MIL and I we have a ton of fabric (enough to fill a room). I bought a few patterns and I want to bring out my sewing machine and star sewing. I have not done a whole lot of sewing but practice makes perfect right? So maybe this weekend I can convince hubby to take my baby out so I can play. I have some cool ideas running through my head I can't keep up with them all. I will post more later as I get time.

Etsy and Ebay

Today I hae been working on my Etsy and Ebay. I am getting ready for the holiday rush that I know is coming. I listed new item on my Ebay. I sold my first item on Etsy today and I am excited! It is being sent to the United Kingdom wich I did not want but I need to figure out how to change that. I will send out on Wendsday and see how it goes.

Woodburning

So i decided to start wood burning again and I love it. I started about 3 years ago before I had my daughter and I stopped because I did not have the time. I made my first peice to put on Etsy and it came out a lot better than I thought it would. I listed this evening and I will see if it sells. i want to start making more.


I had to work today and my back is killing me. I don't know if I hurt it on Friday or if I have another Kidney stone. Only time will tell but it sure sucks when I can't pick my baby up. if it is not better by Monday I will have to go to the doctor and find out.

being a photographer

Last time I mentioned I am a profesional photographer. I have been photographing for over 10 years. I started in high school and loved it so much that I got a photography job shortly after graduation. I did school pics and wedding for over 6 years until I hade my baby. Now I do weddings and families. Today I got to do my niece's pics for her anouncment. She is 2weeks old and she was 3 weeks early so she is so small.

My fist blog

This is the first time doing a blog and I'm not sure what to say. I am a SAHM/WAHM with one little one that keeps me on my toes. I am a professional photographer and love doing that but I also love doing different crafts and now have found a way to showcase and sell what I make. I recently set up my shop on Etsy.com to sell my handmade items. Right now all I have is my fabric appliques but I am working on adding more items. That is all I have for now but check back and I will add more later.
